Sculptures

Genco had been building ‘things’ since his childhood. All through his career, he always used ‘things’ in one way or another. These objects could have been used as ‘ready-made’s, part of assemblages, installations and/ or interdisciplinary projects. But than his objects transform into ‘sculptures’. These ‘sculptures’ refer to themselves or sometimes other sculptures. Gulan’s sculptures that refer to the mythology became famous in their own genre.

The pieces that Gulan covered with chocolate got into books such as; ‘Twelve Caesars’ by Mary Beard 2021 and presented in art fairs, such as ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ at Contemporary Istanbul, 2024. Genco’s sculptures also got in the collections of Istanbul Modern and Momus of Thessaloniki.
